The Graphic Art of the Year exhibition presents a selection of the best contemporary graphic art created by a broad spectrum of artists and students – graphic artists. In existence for twenty-five years, the Graphic Art of the Year exhibition has become a platform for establishing inter-generational artistic relationships, where visitors gain a comprehensive view of and a chance to evaluate the progress and trends in graphic art. It covers all classical techniques including screen printing, lithography, intaglio and relief printing, computer graphics, original techniques used on paper and other materials as well as book design. The exhibition features works by distinguished artists as well as Czech and foreign students (Jakub Špaňhel, Petr Sís, Michal Bačák, Alena Antonová, Hza Bažant, Jan Hísek, Mikoláš Axmann, Eduard Halberštát, Jana Hubatková, Svatopluk Klimeš, Jan Měřička, Šimon Brejcha, Jan Jemelka, Petr Nikl, Václav Šlajch, Martin Velíšek, Saki Matsumoto, Lenka Falušiová, Martin Salajka and many others).
During the competition, the prestigious Vladimír Budník Award is presented to an artist for his or her life-long contribution to the field of graphic arts.
